http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VALqYRrbMU&playnext=1&list=PL0562F1D622BF3D9C
Davidoff Coolwater TV Advert:

Denotations: 1) Man with long hair, striding along, shirt half buttoned up, boys having a water fight, man walks past, man gets wet, smiles and does a sexualised hair flick.
2) Wet woman, slowly walks, wearing a transparent black jumpsuit. Man and Woman make eye contact.
3) Man stands on the edge of a cliff and takes off his shirt. Close up of the side of his face.
4) Man dives off cliff into the very blue sea. Sign shows 'NO swimming, NO diving' Man swims in the sea, slow motion. Woman turns her head in slow motion, shocked.
5)Man rises from the sea, does another sexualised hair flick which goes backwards, he looks at the woman
6) Bottle is shown with typography of 'Davidoff Coolwater, the power of cool'
Connotations: Man with long enough hair to flick attracts girls. half buttoned up shirt - 6 pack. Water fight suggests a hot day. Standing on the edge of a cliff suggests power. Sign says 'NO swimming, NO diving' this could mean that the aftershave can make you feel rebellious and that you can do anything.
Representation: A handsome man (to most) hence the fact the aftershave is for men. A pretty woman who falls for the man mainly due to the Coolwater Aftershave. Jumping off a cliff into a very deep, wide sea makes it look like the aftershave makes the wearer invincible.
There is no dialogue/ speech which makes you concentrate on what's going on alot more. The music is repetitive and goes very well with the advert.
The advert includes water and keeping cool linking to the product. The advert makes you think that if you wear the aftershave, you will become cooler, attractive and rebellious which encourages you to buy it.
